This card was made for my DadÂ’s Birthday. When I was little I remember my Dad having a sandwich, burger or fries as a snack at night on the weekend. My Dad is a tall skinny English man and just like Dagwood he was able to eat like this and stay slim!
As the sandwich was the focus I printed out several of the same image and cut pieces out and raised them up. Then I applied Crystal Effects. The background paper was made from a cartoon I found on the intranet that was done in 1945, the year my Dad was born, and yes it is about Dagwood making a sandwich and needing a drill so he could use a pickle as a dowel. My Dad is also a woodworker, which is another great tie-in. I saved the image and then colour corrected it a bit and then made it a bit grayed out as the black was too severe and took your attention away from the main image. A larger version was in the inside of the card with a note.
