Hi! This card fits the Ways To Use It Challenge: Scallops and the Stampin' B's Challenge: Paper Piercing. and the Free 4 All challenge: Holiday card.
Well, of course, things are a bit better today for us. Markie's school work is MUCH lighter now, after a parent/teacher/teacher/teacher/teacher/teacher conference! And, he's MUCH happier! (So happy I was an elementary school teacher not so long ago! Oh, okay...it was long ago...VERY long ago!)
And, Mother is now in Intensive Care where the nurse to patient ratio is 1 to 1! Yep...I think the phone call to the hospital administrator after the "mishap" of being told my mother DIED yesterday was explained, hurried that little decision. I'm so happy she AGREED with me.
On to the card...The scene was created by punching a hole in a scrap piece of paper. I used the scrap as a reverse mask and the Copic Airbrush with a LIGHT yellow and Gray/Green Copic for the moon. Next, I placed the circle over the moon as a mask and sprayed on a light blue/green, brown and then black Copic to create the sky and background. The images were stamped on with Adirondack Pitch Black. The stamp set is Broom Rides. I decided to use this as a FALL card, as I have a BUNCH of Halloween cards already made. I used 2 Martha Stewart punches, one is the fence, the other for the scalloped edge.
Finished card size: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Total time to complete: about 25 minutes.

Did your heart drop three stories after the mishap? Glad your mother's still with us. And you still have the presence of mind to make this wonderful card! It's terrific.

Nice job on both challenges, Faith! This card has such spooky-autumn flair to it. I'm SO glad to hear that the change you made for Markie was so positive--definitely the right choice!! And although yesterday's scare was horrible, you did an awesome job leveraging lemons into lemonade and bringing about a better hospital situation for your mum. Good for you--on all fronts!
