I don't use a lot of twine, and I certainly don't have any of that lovely striped twine I've been seeing around. But when I thought about the challenge, I realised that the rustic look plain twine gives would be just right to go with this leaf medallion which has been on my desk for a couple of weeks.
Black A2 base. Kraft panel stamped with a leaf in Versamark and then dusted with chalk pastels. HA sentiment stamped on kraft, leaves added, then tied on with twine. The image panel was made by cutting a Blossoms 2 from chipboard. Then I used gold ink and a couple of layers of gold EP. Then a layer of clear UTEE which gives an aged, slightly crazed look to the gold - while it was still warm I stamped the leaf on. When it was cold I rubbed with rub-on lustre.
I am guessing that when you heat the UTEE on the ordinary EP, it melts at a different rate, or contracts or expands, and that is why the regular EP gets a crazed look, as I've repeated this several times.
