I just received the stencil yesterday and have been playing with it to figure out how to use it. I really like this color combo of Riding Hood Red, Not Quite Navy, and River Rock.
The bookplate is from Spellbinders. Love their dies!

I love the shading, will have to try that. Also the center thingamabob. I never think to use things like that, though I have a box of them. And the bookplate is one I am definitely going to get today. I've been looking for something exactly like that for a mass-christmas card I'm making that needs a sentiment. Thanks for all the inspiration!
Just in case you didn't know it, the stencils can be used in the embossing machines if you start the "sandwich" with the stencil face down, then the cardstock face down, then whatever else you need in the way of spacers and/or shims. The stencil being at the bottom of the sandwich, away from the machine's rollers, insures your stencil won't get bent. Nothing wrecks a stenciled image more than a slight bend in the stencil.
