After seeing Sara's (Stamp4you) project table from the Pottery Barn I was envious. Looked it up and it cost over $1000. I made my version for $150... two 9-cube shelving units and a made a table-top measuring 37" W x 4 1/2' long. Added white board to the back of the shelving units and a couple boards underneath between each end to stablize and 'wah-lah'. Now I can hide my tools and craft supplies and appear organized. Painting the walls can wait; I've got cards to make ;)

Wow! Love it! Where did the cubes come from? Was the table top one you had, or did you find that somewhere? TIA

More info... I bought the two 9-cube shelving units and cube drawers from KMart. They measure 35" x 11" x 35". The shelving unit comes with cheap cardboard tiles to nail on the back but I wanted something more stable so I bought a sheet of white board at the lumber yard and had them cut two pieces to fit on the back of the shelving units.
My parents have a wood-working shop so me and my mom cut a sheet of nicely finished plywood 37" x 4.5' and bought some trim board to surround the edges, then sanded and varnished the table top. It just sits on top...it's not nailed down.
I did measure the open space between the shelving units, cut & painted two narrow boards and nailed them midway on the underside of the table to stabilize the unit in case I want to move it another direction.
With a counter height stool it makes a comfortable work surface.
