Here is the card I made for this weeks Penny Black Saturday Challenge (#114) which is to make something using the theme "Feeling Fruity"
Like most people my first thought was to use a stamp featuring more traditionally considered fruit ie: apple, cherry as I am fortunate to have both. However after last weeks challenge really forced me to be creative and do something a bit different I wanted to use a less recognised fruit which is a Pumpkin!
Often mistaken for a veggie, the good ole pun'kin is actually fruit as it has seeds. and is grown from a flower. According to several dictionaries I checked (I just wanted to make sure! LOL!) the pumpkin is actually the brother/sister to the melon! So Thanks to the challenge team for enabling me to learn something new!
Anyway, back to the card. I love making Halloween cards above all others so any excuse I can get is very much relished! It also gave me a chance to use a few of my fab Martha Stewart Halloween punches. I have quite a few now and am on a mission to collect them all!
Punches used in this card are all MS and are "Graveyard Edger punch", "Autumn Branch Punch" "Bats corner punch", "Grass punch" and last but not least "Mice edger punch" (along the bottom)
The moon was created using a 1.5" circle punch which I cut then chalked and the gravestone is a rub on.
You may not be able to see from the pic but the cat has been cut out and raised onto 3d foam pads to make him stand out. Finally, Those of you who have this stamp will know that he does'nt usually wear a hat however I dropped an ink pad straight onto the backing sky paper (one of those "Oh no! moments!) and after spending literally ages paper piecing the card there was no way I was starting again! Hence making a quick hat from a Woodware Halloween set I have to cover up the offending stain!
As ever, Thanks so much for taking a peek. I am so grateful for your time x

wow!! such an amzaing card and so much attention to detail; i love it! the hat fits perfectly with your halloween theme. your use of your punches helps to create quite the scene. i also struggled with last week's theme; i'll have to remember the pumpkin is a fruit too, although i did immediately wish i had the apple/basket stamp as i remembered your card.
