I combined two challenges on this card. One of the challenges was for this week's sketch challenge and this week's color challenge (poppy parade, crumb cake, and baja breeze). I didn't have these colors, but I tried to get as close as possible.
When I saw the dessert option on the sketch challenge was newsprint, I knew I wanted to use the DP I chose for the background. Don't know if you can tell, but it has old time articles crisscrossed. I also had this old time camera digi stamp from Digital Two For Tuesday. So I distressed the edges of the paper, sponged around the image and sentiment. I'm not sure you can tell, but I used the "poppy" color as the drop-down shadow effect in the sentiment (which is computer generated). I had a hard time trying to figure out how to use this color, so I thought I would use it there to shout out the "extra" edition of the news. For those interested in their digi stamps, they have new ones every Tuesday. They never remove their past digis, so you can go back and find some wonderful images. Their website is here:
