This is a good luck on your first job card for my cousin Derek. He just graduated Northeastern University, cum laude, with a degree in electrical engineering. He really wanted to go work for National Grid, one of the power companies in MA. He did get a job with them and starts Monday. I am so proud of him! He is interested in looking at green power supply options.
When I first saw this sketch, I thought it was beyond my abilities. But then I started thinking about the elements I knew I wanted to incorporate in this card and a light bulb went off (okay, pun intended). So the fan became lightning! I rotated the sketch to accomodate the image I knew I wanted to use. Did you notice the grid paper-I had so much fun picking out the elements, I've been thinking on this for a few weeks. I'm glad it fit the SC. The inside is stamped w/ an Inkadikado stamp that reads:
Follow your dreams,
except the one where you're
at work in your underwear.
The lightning was cut with my Cricut using the Disney's Cars cartridge. The dial size is 1 1/2".

VERY, VERY CREATIVE! Love how you used the lightning as the fan and you put so much thought into every element. He is going to love this, especially how personal you made it, very electrifying!

How clever and creative. It's great when an idea comes together so well AND works with a challenge. I like all the different elements - the grid papers, map of the States...well done!

Now this is unique and clever National Grid, eh? Then we'll be supporting him with our monthly bills!!! I just love the grid paper, the lightning, and the power plug. Perfect congrats card for your cousin!! And a super job on this challenge sketch. You did a great job. (My hubby is an EE, too!)

How clever to design the fan pieces to look like lightning! Didn't get the idea of the grid paper until you pointed it out and THEN connected the grid paper with electrical grids of cities! How fun.
