Another project from my stamp camp - an idea I had gotten from the Carol Duvall show several years ago (hats off to Mary O'Neill!)
Pretty simple to make - just take a plain bar of soap, and use a potato peeler to take off any writing or emblems. Stamp the image on tissue paper with stazon. I colored in the lavender one with a marker on the back side, too, but used some fixative on it before continuing. Trim the tissue paper down - but some extra is OK - and then rub a bit of water on the soap and place the tissue paper. Using tongs, dip the decorated half of the soap in paraffin (generic stuff from the grocery store) melted in a double boiler. Yes, you can use it, too.
I'm using the monogrammed soaps as part of a hostess gift for Thanksgiving.
