I made a card!!! AND I took a picture and uploaded it!!! Summer seems so busy (in spite of the excessive amounts of rain we've had) that even if I manage to fit in making a card here and there, I rarely get them photographed or in my gallery.
Today is my nephew's 14th birthday. His 15 yr-old brother made him a backyard half-pipe for his birthday - he built it in our back yard - I'm sure the neighbours wondered what new sport we were taking up! It's pretty hard to disguise something that big! Needless to say the birthday boy was delighted - so I figured I had to make a card that commemorated the gift...
Found a skateboard graphic (colouring page) online, resized and printed it on GP cardstock, coloured it with SU markers, cut it out and popped it up over sponged clouds. I cb-textured and sponged some gray cardstock and cut it to look like part of the half-pipe - love that square lattice folder!! Popped up a Verve sun in the corner (the sun is actually shining here today so I HAD to include the sun and some blue sky)! Punched a couple of circles and used a circle brad for the sentiment.

Thanks to all the Dirty Girls who are bringing a whole array of wonderful challenges for fan club members - won't have time for many this week but we have until the end of the month to upload them. Some great challenges!
Punch tally: only 3 (and that includes the punch I used to make my cloud template...) But hey, look at all that fussy-cutting for my SK8R and the sun!

Oh my goodness, I see you've brought back those sunglasses. you are definitely stylin girl. I have to admit, I went through my cards last month and realized I never sent you that card. Then I pulled it out, put it on the dining room table and then proceeded to send it to someone else. I will try to recreate that for you, so keep your eyes open. I am totally crazy about this card, Ms. Heather. No holes dug here! I am so totally enthralled with this skateboarder and your design. I'm just sitting here thinking, 'there she goes again'. Trust me, I would put this in my faves asap if I could even entertain the thought that somehow, in some small way, I could actually create something like this. My compliments on your great card, which just happens to be lots of fun, too.

It's great to see a card from your gallery. Are you through travelling for a bit? This card sure brings memories. My youngest son loved this sport from the time he was 5 yrs. old and in the back yard with his own ramp. Oh, the scrapes, knots, bruises. You created a wonderful card and I'm sure it is going to be appreciated. Great job on the cutting!

I love this card! I has such a fun feel to it that isn't even explained by the images - it is the color and the dimension I think. I love that it matches the occasion so well too. You have got to have the coolest backyard on the block now. You could take up skateboarding - you could wear your super big sunglasses and no one would know it was you.....

Here you go getting all creative on us again Diz. And, thanks for keeping that hilarious sunglass avatar. Every time I see it I still laugh as though it was the 1st time I've ever seen it.
I'm with you, I LOVE that lattice ef and I love all your special effects going on here. Your nephew will truly love this. It's so hard for me to create these kinds of cards. The one I cased of Mutnik's about did me in. That's about as far as I can go.
Hope all is well and it's good to see an upload.

What a fun card. I love this SK8R. Great job on the clouds btw. That ef is perfect for the half-pipe. You've thought of everything while doing this card - love all the details.
