Hi! This card was made for the Stampin' B's Challenge: Summer Vacation and was adapted to fit today's Free For All Challenge: Gold Star.
Since this week's Challenge is Summer Vacation, I decided to use this set: Tropical Vacation and the crackled background from the Sneak Peek: Background Fun.
Have you seen Vintage post cards? They are a sight for the creative eye. I LOVE to spend hours going through my mother's antique collection of post cards. I think, subconsciously, this stamp set was designed around several of her Florida Post Cards.
The base is a new paper called: Premium Colored Pencil Paper. I LOVE it's texture! It works fabulously with colored pencils and gamsol, but I also LOVE it for card bases!
For today's card, I used a piece of 7 gypsies designer paper for the focal image. I used a sanding block to remove some of the printing. Next, I sponged in Ginger for the sand, and Cote d' Azure for the sea. I stamped the Palm in Adirondack Espresso and offstamped 2 more times. I added in the sea oats at the bottom in Espresso and then used an Inkssentials pen for highlights and dots.
The cracked background was added in Adirondack's Ginger.
I added in the GOLD STARfish to fit the F4A challenge!
Finished size: 5 1/2" x 4 1/4"
