Hi! This card was made for this week's Color Combination Challenge: dark orange, curry and bermuda (it's dark blue green); this week's Teapot Challenge; and this week's Stampin' B's Challenge: Summer.
I love this color combo, and wanted to add the "dessert" portion, of stamping on Designer Paper, so I found a piece of Basic Grey that was that dirty white. I sponged on Broken China and Pine Needles Distress Inks to create the "blue" in the challenge. Next, I stamped a SNEAK PEEK Crackled stamp from Background Fun in Reflection Blue. (I didn't want it to over-power the scene.)
The scene was created by using a reverse mask to sponge in Spiced Marmalade and Dried Marigold. Next, I LIGHTLY sponged in the Dried Marigold for the sky and used Reflection Blue for the ocean. I sponged in the sand with Adirondack's Ginger.
Now, for the teapot story:
Silly Sydney has a life long dream of visiting the ocean. Speedy the Cat and I LIVE 8 minutes from the ocean. We really don't like it much. The beach is full of sand, and the heat dehydrates us. But, if Silly Sydney wants to see the beach, we have a beauty of a spot for her to sit and enjoy! It's where Kitty Kat and Tom Cat (the boxers) like to play in the surf early Sunday mornings. Two weeks ago, our sunrise looked just like this, and believe me, I'm married to a guy BETTER lookin' than the Big Kahuna, and the sunrises force me to look away from that hunk and marvel at the beauty of the ocean. Here's to Sydney achieving that big DREAM!
Finished card size: 5 1/2" x 4 1/4"

I live in land-locked Alberta far away from any beaches or oceans ~ but if a condition for those things is heat and dehydration, I'll stay where I am and enjoy the occasional trip to a beach location. Your card is wonderful. When I clicked on it, the Elton John song "Island Girl" popped into my head. Go figure...
