Today's Free for All Challenge F4A17 is Man's Best Friend, to create something in ode to one of your bestest animal friends, pets: dogs, cats, birds, fish, reptiles. We don't have any pets at our house, but I needed a birthday card for the daughter of one of my bestest friends. She is turning 12 this weekend and hopes to become a veterinarian. She has three cats, 2 guinea pigs, several hamsters, and some fish at her house. Keeping all that in mind, I thought this beautiful Siamese cat would be a safe choice for this future vet!! (Sovay usually asks for donations to the Massachusetts SPCA, either cash or pet care items, in lieu of birthday gifts. Isn't that awesome?? I'll be enclosing a check to the MSPCA in this card for her.)
Oh, and I almost forgot! This is also for yesterday's Ways to Use It challenge, Raving on Ribbon. I wasn't happy with my entries yesterday--not terribly creative. I'd hoped to to come back later with something to write home about. I think this may be it!!
I really had fun with this card! I was able to incorporate four other challenges in making it. Details are below.
Thanks so much for dropping by to take a peek!!

What an awesome card for the Speedy's Friends challenge!! Love this, Emily. The background paper must have taken quite some time but was well worth the effort since it is absolute perfection!! Fabulous job getting all of those kitties on there so straight

What a lovely Siamese. I have mixed feelings about them - no doubt they look beautiful, but the one we had wasn't the nicest character. Still, this is a perfect card for an animal-loving aspiring vet. I wouldn't have thought of only using two holes in a four hole button, I'll have to remember that I don't HAVE to, just because they're there .
