I nearly forgot that today is the last day of gymnastics for the year for my kids!! That means we need end-of-year thank you gifts for coaches, and fast.
I ordered some cute mini Chinese food takeout boxes from Limelight Papercrafts a few months ago (just 25 cents each!) and picked up a package of mini paper tote favor boxes in the wedding section at our Dollar Tree. I still hadn't figured out how to make the handles for the takeout boxes when I read today's Ways to Use It challenge WT275, Raving on Ribbon. Aha!! Ribbon is the answer!!
I'm also doing the new The Play Date Cafe challenge for this week, PDCC34, which is to use the colors black, white, and a splash of blue.
These 2 boxes will be for my 11YO daughter's two coaches. I stamped various thank yous & stars on the plain white boxes, attached a black grosgrain ribbon for the takeout box handle, created a ribbon tassel embellishment for the other box, and filled them with M&Ms. My daughter will help me make gift tags for these after school, and then it's off to gymnastics!!
Thanks for looking!
Emily

These look terrific Emily! I am sure the gymnastic coaches will be really touched. I know I always was when I received things from students when I was teaching. I like the ribbon handles & accents.
