Happy Saturday, everyone! We've had a really busy week on the home front this past week, and today I finally got a chance to stamp!
This card is for a couple of challenges:
1. The Inspiration Challenge that Stef gave us with the Layla Grace website. There were so many beautiful items from which to choose, but I fell in love with this Beige Provincial Decoupage Frame:
2. For Anne's Queen for the Day challenge in honor of Connie Jo9 with a bonus option to tell a story. This week's QFTD challenge is sponsored by none other than the generous Priscillastyles! I chose Connie Jo's beautiful Flowers for Mom card here.
Connie Jo truly is one of the sweetest SCSers, always encourages others with her heartfelt comments, and is an awesome stamper to boot!
I don't have a humorous story to tell, and I don't know if this qualifies as a story, but I did want to relay that I am constantly touched by the deep bond of sisterly love between Connie Jo and her sister Cathy (Mutnik). They always encourage, inspire, uplift, respect, and love one another that comes through clearly in their posted comments on one another's designs. So, I thought I'd use a photo that was taken of me and my two sisters a couple years ago when my sister, Kay (middle), came to Michigan to visit me after I had my hand surgery. We haven't been able to see each other often (like Cathy and Connie Jo) over the last 35 years because she lives on the Pacific coast and I'm alllllllllll the way over here in the midwest of Michigan. Nonetheless, we have a deep sisterly bond as well, which includes our baby sister, Wendy (left). Wendy and I have been fortunate to live near one another and we, too, share a close relationship as sisters. We took my parents to the local cider mill on a beautiful fall day, and we had so much fun! My husband had us pose for this picture in front of the wagonload of pumpkins at the cider mill.
I lined up the vines images with my stamp-a-ma-jig to create the frame and then stamped the weeks images on the outer perimeter. All the images were heat embossed.
Thanks Stef and Anne for great challenges week after week!
CONGRATULATIONS, Connie Jo on being selected as Queen for the Day!!! Wear your crown proudly!

Sweet CASE of Connie's card and awesome take on your inspiration piece. Love the white on kraft and how you used the vines to frame your photo. I know how you feel... my sister lives in Florida, and only gets up north every once in awhile - usually for the DALMAC ride when she just pedals on by. Thanks for sharing your story.

WOWZERS Charlene, your story brought a tear to my eye! I love how you used the frame as your IC and then included this fabulous picture of you and your sisters. I would so like to put a photo of my sis and me, but she nor I want people to see what we really look like! Not that were scary or anything. hehe Okay, I'd show you me but she won't let me show you her.....again hehe Who knows, someday a paparazzi might just catch her out by her famous tree taking a "card" picture. Then all will know that she is not only beautiful on the inside but on the outside as well. Love your card. Great way to use those Rubbernecker vines! TFS :0)

Charlene, what a beautiful tribute to Connie Jo and her sister!! I loved your story and it does make it hard when we are separated. One of my sisters lives in Japan right now and the other in the DC area. I get to see my youngest sister about 4 x year if I'm lucky. I also agree with you that the relationship b/t Connie Jo and her sister always touches me too. How cool to be able to share in each other's talents with this site!! TFS!!
