Hi everyone
the final challenge we had for the design team tryouts for summer was to create a water inspired card.
I thought about it for a couple of days and decided that I really wanted to do something with water lilies. I love Monet's paintings of his lily pond, so was inspired by that.
As I didn't have a stamp, I created my water lilies from layers of vellum. I used a technique (and I cannot remember the name of it!!) with my stylus. I began by outliningthe pad, three layers of flowers and the stamen.
I turned it over and on the underside used my stylus to stretch the vellum. It allows the image to pop and provides the perfect surface to color the underside of the vellum.
I used three greens for the pad and then white and pink for the flowers. I used Daffodil Delight and Peach Parfait for the stamen.
I used my sponge daubers to create the water. I used Bashful Blue, Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy and Mist for the water.
The dragonfly was stamped on Vellum using the Asian Artistry set.
I built the water lily using mini glue dots and added 5 drops of Crystal Effects to create the dew drops on the flower and pad.
I actually created 3 cards using the same images and couldn't decide which one to put up -in the end I went for this one :-)
Thank you so much for stopping by and taking a look. I really do appreciate it.
