I layered Concorde Crush, Marina Mist and White. The images were smooched with gold and silver Smooch Sprays. The Marina Mist layer was stamped with En Francaise in Marina Mist and overstamped with Canvas in Crumb Cake.

First off, thanks for the great comments -- you all made my day!!
Susan, I washed the whole hydrangea with Bashful Blue. Then I took some Marina Mist and watercolored the center of the flowers, extending out a bit towards the petals. The flowers on the edges/bottom got more coverage then the ones in the center, because that's how you'd view the flower. Then I added Night of Navy to the centers/side shading, then a little bit of Elegant Eggplant. What you can't see is that the edges of some of the center flowers have tiny bits of Certainly Celery -- because hydrangea start out green, then develop their color. I wish that had shown up more in the scan!

WOW! As a member of the board of the American Hydrangea Society I must say you did a beautiful color job! Thanks for describing how you colored it. What white paper did you use and what ink did you stamp the hydrangea in?

One word... STUNNING! Love this. Can't wait 'til my set comes... I was one of the ones that couldn't order it right away so they are sending it separately. THANK YOU for sharing! Blessings, Lela

You must be an SU demo, right? Lucky you to already have Concord Crush! I like your card; I ADORE hydrangeas too! My absolute fave flower; in fact, at the top of my brand-new blog, I've got a photo of a hydrangea in my yard!
You did a nice job coloring this flower, and using different bkgrnds together. That is a technique I use a lot of too.

I was a little worried about how to color this set since all of our light purples are now gone, but you've given me GREAT inspiration! Love this sample!
