I made this card for this week's {ippity} challenge, IHHC26, to create a card or cards using {ippity} stamps for the Operation Write Home organization, which collects blank handmade cards to send out to deployed military personnel so they can send them back to loved ones here at home!
OWH often recommends general-themed cards, because they are the most adaptable to any occasion: perfect for a hello or can be sent for birthdays, get well, sympathy, weddings, anniversaries, babies, or lots of other letter-writing reasons. So I tried to keep this card general with a "shoot for the moon" celebration sentiment.
My 11YO daughter, 7YO son, and I spent the afternoon on Memorial Day making a collection of cards to send to OWH. They had both marched in our town's Memorial Day parade that morning with their scout troops and were thrilled to do something to "give back" to the soldiers we were remembering. They really "got" the idea of this project and have been asking if they can make more OWH cards each day!
I used my {ippity} Moon Beams & Heart Strings set, some star punches, and some embroidery floss (in yellow and blue) to highlight every other string.
Paper: SU so saffron CS, SU bashful blue CS, SU whisper white CS, SU DP
Ink: Palette noir black
Accessories: CM corner rounder punch, SU star punch, Fiskars small star punch, sewing machine, colored pencils, scissors, black gel pen, dimensionals, embroidery floss, needle

Great card! What a great way to teach your kids about thinking of others. Love the way you stitched your image to the top of the card. RYPH
