| I created this card for Clear Dollar Stamps Clearly Inspired Challenge #13 which was to use flowers. My flowers are subtle, but I absolutely love Grape Hyacinths! We have hundreds of them that bloom in our yard before Spring even hits and it is a welcome respite from Winter! I also created this card using last week's sketch from Our Creative Corner.
This card was made by stamping my image with Versamark ink onto a white oval with the edge of the birdhouse hanging off a little. Then I embossed it with purple embossing powder and colored it in with chalks and a purple embossing marker. I then stamped and colored the image on a scrap piece of paper and cut out the birdhouse and 2 of the Grape Hyacinths. Lastly, I attached them with pop dots over the original image to give the card more dimension. I attached these over a dark purple oval which was attached to 2 rectangles that were layered over a larger rectangle. All of this was attached to a large block of light purple paper and then attached to the main card. I also added a ribbon under the smaller rectangles and attached the bow with super glue. The patterned paper is from an old pad of paper by Sizzix. |
