I stamped and cut out a whole load of pears on Friday night but only used two - and I'm trying to get my May quota of Christmas cards made by Friday, as we will probably be away for a week.
A2 kraft base. After I'd stamped my background and made my frame I went looking for a paper to use. I meant to look in the Christmas section, but this scrap of Basic Grey Perhaps had good colours, so I used it - edges distressed and sponged, and brown stitching added. The background behind the frame is Stampendous Music Score stamped in black on white card, then sponged with Antique Linen, Vintage Photo and Old Paper. I stamped the little leaf from Vintage Vogue on with Peeled Paint and Pine Needles, and stuck this to the card base. My frame is Bazzill, cut with Labels 1 and square Nestabilities. I embossed with Diamonds in the Rough, and rubbed some gold Luster rub-ons onto the raised diamonds. The bird and branch were sponged with distress inks (Mustard Seed, Antique Linen, Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain, Peeled Paint for the leaves). The branch is stuck under the frame, the bird is up on foam so that her tail can lie above the frame. I embossed the wing for extra lift. I added another pear and a couple of leaves in the bottom corner of the frame.
A See-D's sentiment stamped with Staz-On Timber Brown finishes it off. I intended to emboss it, but put white EP on by mistake. Luckily I spotted it in time to just wipe it off!
I prefer the card I made over the weekend, but I like this one too.
