This card was made for a adult friend who is blind. Her mother would describe my card to her however I created it, but I wanted her to have a card that she could also feel. I didn't think as much about color & such, but instead, the use of texture was my main concern. This card is also for a Ways to Use It challenge from awhile ago, which was called Sand It. This year, I created an Under the Sea card. First off, I lightly sanded the whole card base, especially at the bottom. This helped with the gluing that came next and also gave it a different feel. Next I sponged some Creamy Carmel to the bottom part of the card base and I stamped some seaweed & coral. Then a fine craft sand was glued over the sponged part to become the floor of the ocean. Tiny shells were glued on top of the sand. The fish were stamped on Polyshrink with a Kaleidacolor ink pad. Then the fish were cut out and shrunk by using a heat gun. The seaweed was covered with Crystal Effects so it would feel slippery and almost wet. The coral was sanded down more so it would feel rough. At the top, I embossed Happy Birthday, so my friend could feel the smooth letters. She is an amazing person, with a successful career and works very hard despite her disability. I enjoy going through this extra time and effort for her. BTW, the black you see beside the fish and card base are shadows from the quick picture I took before delivering the card. Sorry about that. Thanks for ignoring the shadows, for looking at my card and for your comment. Always appreciated.
BTW - This is the first texture card I made for my friend, if you're interested: My most challenging card ever by DCinkit at Splitcoaststampers
