Hi :-)
I've been meaning to upload this Christmas card for a few weeks but lost the Card Recipe after I had uploaded it to another on-line gallery! Doh! This afternoon, I finally found it! Now I know it's not Christmas but I had to make some sample cards as a "try-out" for a DT & I was lucky enough to get in. Woo Hoo!
I'm finding that my camera does NOT like photographing reds for some reason and it was hard to adjust the photo with my Photo Editing Software to make the card look like it is supposed to. Trust me - the ribbon, designer paper and cardstock is a bit brighter IRL and nowhere near as dull as in the photo. Oh well!
The image was coloured with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol and I sponged around the edges with Peeled Paint (green) Distress ink. The image panel is popped up on 1mm mounts (dimensionals). I ran the burgundy cardstock background through my Cuttlebug with the (large) Jamara embossing folder - LOVE this folder - it's so elegant. Not sure if you can see, but I sprayed the whole card with Iridiscent Gold Glimmer Mist - the card really sparkles IRL.
I added a gold brad at the top LH & RH corners just to add 'something' - it looked kinda bare!
The beautiful burgundy ribbon was attached in 2 separate elements and the bow itself was made with my Bow Easy. The ribbon is made of silk and is the first time I have used silk ribbon on a card. I have to say how beautiful it was to work with - didn't have to fight to get it to look neat and elegant.

Oh my, this is totally sumptious! Pure elegance. I love the rich colours, and that ribbon and bow is utterly stunning. I've heard that silk is wonderful to work with but I've never tried it...think I may have to now!
