TLC265 Challenge is to make a card from childhood memories. I pretended alot while I was growing up and I am still pretending today. I am pretending that this dragonfly is a firefly or lightening bugs as we called them. My memory today is of my brothers, sister, and cousins waiting for the fireflies to come out after dark. We would catch them, put them in a jar and watch the flashing lights!
Garden Green is my base card layered with some Hobby Lobby dp. The dragonfly/firefly is from a stamp set I bought at Wal-Mart when I first started stamping, by StampCraft. I colored with Pedigree pencil crayons and blended with Turpenoid-also from Wal-Mart. The scallops were made using the pink and purple Marvy punches, Stampin' UP scalloped punch and wide oval punch. The leaf branch is Stampin' Up's Little Leaves die.
Yesterday I hit a button before I got my recipe finished, hopefully that won't happen today.

Oh, Bev, I just love your "lightning" bug for your childhood memories card! My sister and I (and any of the kids on our block who were still up) loved catching lightning bugs and collecting them in little baby food jars with holes punched in the lids. Then we'd use them as little lanterns as we ran around the darkened yard. We always set them free before we went in for bed.
What a pretty color combo for this card--and a lovely layout, too. So very nicely done

Yes, we used to be thrilled watching the fireflies, and we still are. Last summer the grandsons and I spent a long time outside watching them. It's so exciting to see another generation being excited about the same wonders of nature as we were!

I used to love doing that too. I would put the jar on my window sill, and fall asleep to their light. My Mom would come in later, and free them!! I thought it was us ONLY children that pretended!! TFS your card and memories with us......no wonder we consider each other friends!!

I think a lot of us remember capturing fireflies and putting them in a jar on summer evenings. Your card is lovely in its evening tones of blue and green.

My brothers and I did exactly the same thing and we called them fireflys too. Amazing how those little bug butts worked! We always let them go after watching.
Great colors on the dragonfly and what a wonderful background which goes nice with the die cut stems.

Heehee! I was telling someone earlier that we use to catch fireflies and squash them in our palms so we would glow. Gross, huh? Kids! LOL Love your sweet card!
