Well, My original idea was to make a green and brown CAS card for yesterday's challenge, but somehow this is what came out! Not quite a CAS as I had hoped. I did use a bunch of new stuff, though, so it does qualify for last week's Way's to Use it Challenge.
I just got this Spring Song set and this is just my second time playing with my Fleur de lis medallion die. I almost never buy background paper at the craft store (since I have boxes of it from SU that coordinate wonderfully with my colors) but I was at the store yesterday looking for something else and they were have a great sale and there were some pretty papers and this came home with me. So when my creamy carmel cs layer was looking a little too blah, this paper made it's way onto the card.
While this looks like a lot of work to make it really wasn't too bad. The bird was fairly easy to color and cut and the medallion die makes that part a snap and the bowdabra makes the bow a snap. The biggest fuss was the small pink blossoms. The punch was easy, but then I used a small hole punch to snip each petal. Figuring out how to hold these small flowers while I did that was the hardest part. (I used a locking tweezer) And then I wanted to add fluffy little fibers to the centers of these, but they're just too small for that to really happen, though it didn't stop me from trying!
Finished card size is 4 7/8" square.
