The challenge is to make our own designer paper. A technique I enjoy but probably donÂ’t do it enough. Great challenge Holly!
-Prismacolor pencils, baby oil and paper stumps were used to color the image using the Gamsol technique found in the resources section here at SCS. Baby oil replaces the Gamsol.
-The butterfly is paper sculpted using a metal ball stylus and a folded paper towel for cushion. First score wing lines on the front then turn it over and make circular motions with the stylus staying away the edges and score lines.
-I stamped only the antennae on the card and lined the cut out butterfly up to them.
-I used one piece of paper and masking to stamp my images.
-I sectioned off the paper I wanted to stamp the flourishes on, laid the clear images right onto the cardstock in the position I wanted to stamp them, pressed my acrylic block onto the images and picked them up. It stamped exactly the way I had it laid out. Cool!
-The pearls are attached with Diamond Glaze (any lacquer product will work). To make the process fast and easy I squeeze a drop of lacquer onto a waxed paper (I repurpose the paper that stickers and labels are purchased on), touch the end of a large corsage pin to the lacquer then to the back of the gem which picks it up, position it on the image and press down with a finger, there is a little time to slide the gem into position if needed before it sticks tight.
-A touch of Diamond Glaze was applied under the buckle so help hold it in place.
