For today's sketch challenge, SC271, found here: Forums at Splitcoaststampers
as well as for the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge (FTTC57) and Day 2 of the Grand Opening Celebration for Flourishes (FLLCCEL2). The challenge, to create a card full of celebration, can be found here: http://www.flourishes.org/2010/03/fl...g-celebration/
I have an aunt and uncle who will be celebrating their 50th anniversary in a few months. That's definitely something to celebrate! So I thought that the Flourishes challenges would be a great time to make their card.
Highlights:
--I created the main panel by stamping a flourish in a repeated pattern in black on so saffron.
--The main panel is covered by a sheet of vellum (torn at the bottom to let my handmade DP show through). I stamped another flourish on the vellum in gold ink to overlay one of the flourishes underneath.
--For the bottom layer of so saffron, I gave it a subtle tone-on-tone pattern by running it over with my Cornelli Lace jumbo wheel inked with Versamark.
--The sentiment is stamped in gold ink. I also stamped "50" in gold ink along the bottom of the inside of the card.
I'm so pleased with how this turned out! I hope it will help the anniversary couple celebrate their special day.
Thanks for looking!
Emily

Wow Emily! What a fabulous card to give to a couple celebrating that many years together! I love this! The colors you used are just perfect and that vellum overlay was brilliant. Super job! TFS!!!
