Our TSC for this week is "Reflections". As I reflected (no pun intended.....yah, right) on how to deal with this challenge that Twisted Sister Pat Smethers issued, my eyes settled on this image from Cornish Heritage Farms. I also remembered I purchased an Opposite stamp from Inovative Stamp Creations. Well, things got to poppin in my head and this is what I came up with. Stamped the image with black soot ink onto the opposite stamp and then smacked it onto white CS. Turned the CS upside down and stamped the image directly onto the CS using the same ink. Trying to line up the legs of the Flamingo was pretty tricky and took a couple of tries. Still didn't get it perfectly but, this is gonna have to do. I heat set the images and colored with markers. Layed a Post-It-Note across the middle to mask the bottom from the top and sponged on Soft Sky on the bottom half; flipped the mask and sponged Tempting Turquoise heavy at the horizon line and lighter for the rest of the sky. Then I die cut the image using my Nestie on the Cuttlebug. Added some water dashes and dots with a white gel pen but darned if they do not show up in this photo. Mounted the image with Pop Dots on to a scrap of DP from Old World paper pad from Hobby Lobby. Added the rub-on corner embellishments and the sentiment to use them up. Most of what I did here are techniques I have learned from Michelle Zindorf and it wouldn't be right if I didn't give her credit. My creation doesn't come any where NEAR her skill level but I so enjoy her tutorials and they are very inspirational.

Phyllis, I love this work of art! Your bird looks so elegant, and the framing is gorgeous. I love how you study Michelle's beautiful work, and think you have achieved your 'own' right in the skills you have picked up from her examples. Your sky and the water are just beautiful to look on. You did a great job on this TSC sistah! Hugs, LYMI
