I was working on this card and almost had it finished when I went to check the LSC. What? No LSC? But wait - in its place is a NEW Free for All challenge! I kind of like the sound of that. And my card fits this new F4A1 challenge as well as WT259.
For the WT challenge (use lace, lacy punched borders, etc) I used the double loop border/corner punch set on the middle charcoal gray layer. It looks a little different because I snipped out a few loops. I don't know why, it was just more appealing to me for it to be not so even. For the F4A challenge, the charcoal gray c/s I used is a color I rarely use. There's texture in the punched border, the embossed Nestie edges and in those little leaves you see peeking out. Those are part of a piece of embossed matboard. I sponged on Neptune ink then hit all the embossed high places w/ a gray ink pad and added a little more of the pale greenish blue with markers. I made it thinner (matboard is really thick) by peeling off the top few layers and only using this top part.
I stamped the nest onto the charcoal c/s then painted it w/ bleach and very fine nylon bristle brush. Then I added a little color back in using Prismacolor pencils and cut it out w/ a Spellbinders Labels 6, using the Out of the Box Nestie Technique. I left the die in place and lightly sponged a little alabaster chalk ink around the edge. It's attached to an oval nestie. The sentiment was cut w/ a tag Nestie. I used a corner rounder on the two center layers and added my cut out leaves.
Thanks so much for looking! Love the new challenge! My blog:The Write Stuff. Sorry! I had to delete a bunch of really old posts from my blog & this is one of them.
