The challenge is use lace and since IÂ’m not much a fabric lace on cards person I used the punch to make my lace.
-Stamping the images:
The poppy image is a solid rubber image with open areas for the flowers. I inked up the rubber with the rose ink and stamped, before picking up the image I made sure my stamp positioner was very snug to the acrylic block. Then used the kissing technique (directions found in this link) to get the swirl image on my poppy image and stamped it again. I also darkened the lines within the poppies with a marker before stamping.
-I colored the stems and shaded the poppies using Prismacolor pencils, baby oil and paper stumps.
-The middle layer on the butterflies was embossed before gluing them together and then to the card. The pearls have a self stick backing for attaching to the cardstock.
-I knotted the ribbon ends first, positioned the knot on the card panel using Memory Zots to hold it in place then cut the length needed for each side and wrapped it to the back of the panel and secured with tape.
-For the envelope I masked off the front with scrap paper leaving 1 ¼” to stamp on, then score a line down the stamped edge with the Scor Pal. Repositional tape works well to hold that scrap paper to the envelope.
Tools: Martha Stewart Classic and 3in 1 Classic butterfly punches, Doily Lace border punch, Cuttlebug and Herringbone embossing folder, stamp positioner, paper stumps, Scor-Pal
