Hi! This card was made for today's Sketch Challenge.
Yesterday, Markie came home from school very tired and grouchy. He said, "I feel like a GREEN Sunflower!" A green sunflower??? I just had to ask, "What's wrong with a green sunflower?" He replied, "Hey, they pop up out of the ground and are GREEN and look like weeds...And, they're not RIPE! I needed more sleep like green sunflowers!"
Geez...and we were sure he was going to complain about all the bruises he had gotten that morning when he pulled his dresser over and it landed on top of him. We had a real scare. Markie's BIG old tv is on top of that dresser...He could have been killed. I was so shaken up, I didn't do much yesterday except be a zookeeper....
The background was stamped with Versamark and embossed in gold. I stamped the sunflower in Adirondack Espresso and used Memento Markers to color it in. I did NOT heat set it, so the ink blended with the markers to look like it was watercolored! (It probably helped that I stamped the flower onto watercolor paper!)
Finished card size: 6" x 4 3/4"
Total time to complete: 27 minutes

What a gorgeous card Faith!! I love the colors and the gold embossing. That son of yours is something else!! He's even talented in describing how he feels. Cool how you get ideas from each other. :>)
What a scaare you've had! ....is the dresser now bolted to the wall??!!
I have to commend you on using that fear in such a creative way...the green sunflower theory is very interesting and observative of nature...I think you may have a botonist, forest ranger, or maybe a "Grizzley Adams" type growing....your card is beautiful and the green sunflower touches me in a way I can't begin to describe.
Thank you for sharing; for touching my heart....sending you and your family blue skies
