Funnily enough I started this card last night while watching the finals of the Olympic pairs ice dance. I was making it for the tea party where we are bringing Abner some colour - but not too much all at once! I'm bringing a touch of Canadian red - oh yeah! and lots of loop de loops with my double bows!!
So I was right on the money when I saw today's colour challenge. I'm going with Event #1 - one Olympic colour RED and one neutral BLACK and for dessert - one of the medal colours GOLD to celebrate the first place finish of Canada's Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir! Yay Canada!!
I embossed the right side of my white panel with the CB leaves and put it on a black card base. The maple leaf is embossed in shiny black, cut out and popped it up. Stamped and embossed the sentiment and coloured the heart with red copics. Matted in red card stock and popped it up.
Tied a double bow with some red gingham ribbon and added a gold star medal, er charm, with some gold cording also tied in a bow!!
Congrats to ALL the Olympians!
Thanks for taking a peek!

Don't be looking for Mothermark today! She thought she could handle some triple twist loop-de-loop 360 quad toe pick action and ended up in traction! She asked me to fill in since I have been training for the Evian Water Babies Roller Blade team!
Dude.....do you know any of the Canadian judges? Wondering if you might put a good word in for me.....I been training but when the teapotters showed up, I sorta got involved with the treats and tea and now I'm having difficulty staying on my board! Yikes!
Oh, yeah, Mothermark wanted me to tell you that your Canadian card is so wonderfully done and the red and white gingham is the perfect finishing touch! Lucky you being from Canada at this time of year! Okay, gotta go.....gonna try one more run!

Awesome card for Canada and Abner will love the color red. I love that loop-de-loop bow. You could do a tutorial on that. ;)

Laurie, this is just beautiful! I love that red ribbon (you know 'gingham' is my favorite color! Lol) Your embossing just lights up the bg and your sentiment is great! I love Canadians too! Lots of them! Hugs...
