I think it's pretty obvious that this card can't be anything except a celebration of Mardi Gras Teapot Tuesday style.
This little bird had done her best - she raided some outsize feathers and stamped them up with swirls in gold, green and purple. She found some sparkly balloons, and thinking that spaghetti was definitely NOT a good idea at a tea-party, found some confetti going a begging instead. (When we were kids, my dad was making a film for his school about using different senses to explore the world. I remember a trip to the Natural History museum on the day it was closed to the public, and one to our favourite rock pool. But I also remember a staged shoot of us sitting at the picnic table with plates of spaghetti, and being encouraged to have fun with it when Mum walked out of shot - this is why I don't think we should have spaghetti at the party!!).
Black A2 base, next layer is gold glitter card. Then purple Bazzill Bling, and then watercolour paper edged with gold EP.
The Imaginisce bird was stamped with gold, embossed with gold EP and coloured with H2Os, and a little gem in the flower. The feathers were stamped with a flourish stamp in gold, green and purple, as were all the streamers. The balloons were punched from holographic card and I just drew the twine on.
Added part of a birthday sentiment to cover a smudge where I didn't properly heat all the EP!!
Seems like a lot more fun than our celebrations over here, which is just pancakes!!

Cute, cute, cute! LUV your stamped feathers!!! How clever is that? Love your spaghetti story too. You're probably right, spaghetti isn't a good idea for a tea party....
Just saw a clip of the Zulu Parade on the news, and there you were, front row center!

I love that visiting Martie McGraw's brought back childhood sketti memories! Bwahahaha! Hey, Sabrina....glad you are here girlfriend, but I gotta tell you...I just got over a sneezing attack when greeting Tex! She brought super tickly feathers and aahhh choooo!!!! So did you! Giggle!
Nanner, Nanner Boo Boo! Made ya make a card that you can't use...and I know how you HATE to do that! Giggle!
Its very creative and fun though. Me thinks stamping on feathers is gonna be a brand new Splitcoast challenge and you invented it! When's the tutorial going live? I wanna be there specially cuz I am really into techniques!

You are certainly prepared for a fun time! I hope no bird was harmed by having to give up this gorgeous feather!
Great job in putting together all these elements.
Ah-ha!!!! I bet yer the one who learnt Gertie how to fling bahsketti! That's why it's all over in my har, and here you wuz thinkin' ol' Bertie be the one to fling it. I git no respect, I tell ya. Here I wuz jes innocently passin' out m&ms to my fellow tea partiers and "splat!" I took one right in the head with that bahsketti she's a-flingin'.
I jes hafta give ya an A+++, which I'm shure yer daddy would, too, for this darlin', creative and festive N'awlins style birdie card! I agree with da Muddermark that ya should do a tutorial on how to stamp on feathers. What a hoot! I love it, Sabrina!

Just so Mardigraish Sabrina! What a good idea to use those big feathers with this sweet chick all embossed! I say your little chickie did very well with her costume and balloons. Joyeux Mardi Gras mon amie! Have fun. TFS
