What a great challenge for President's Day, Wendy! This was fun. Being a native Texan and with the most beautiful time of the year in Texas being only a month away, I decided to honor one of Texas' most well- remembered statesman,Lyndon Baines Johnson. He was the first president I ever saw. When I was in elementary school, he was in our town campaigning for his run for president (which he lost the nomination to Kennedy, but you know the rest of that story). His wife, "Lady Bird" was well remembered for her work in beautifying America, especially in the area of conservation of wildflowers. I thought it interesting that their 2 daughters also shared those famous initials LBJ.

This is perfect, Liz! I love the Texas connection. Can never get enough of that, lol. Love how you turned your bird into a mockingbird. We have a young mockingbird that comes to our front door almost every morning. He sees his reflection in the side lights and hasn't learned yet that it's not another bird.

Yes, Lady Bird and wildflowers go together. Your card is so pretty and I am sure she would have loved to receive it. Great job on this interesting challenge.
