| I created this card for 4 challenges. Flourishes Timeless Tuesday's Cut It Out and Pop It Up Challenge 52B and Using Pink as the Main Color 52D; Clear Dollar Stamps Clearly Inspired Challenge 6 to use Black, White, Red and Optionally Pink; and the Creative Card Crew's Challenge 44 of Valentine's.
I have been busy catching up on my scrapbooking lately and haven't done much cardmaking this week. This card's sketch was a CASE from Mercy's Timeless Tuesdays on January 31. I started by embossing the heart shaped lock in red with clear powder and coloring the face plate with glue and then fine red glitter. Then I filled in the rest of the image with red chalk and cut it out. I mounted it with pop dots on a white scalloped circle layered over a black scalloped circle. These circles were dry embossed with a Cuttlebug stitched circles folder, then I went over the stitches with a red embossing pen and red embossing powder. The band going across the middle consists of a ribbon layered over a light pink band made using the Martha Stewart doily lace punch. The background was made by paper piecing 3 different patterns of coordinating DP (4 sections). Once I had them mounted on the black and white layers, I faux stitched red where they joined with an embossing marker. Then I adhered everything else to the card. Last, but not least, I stamped the phrase "hold the key to my heart!" on the inside of the card. |
