I actually used this card as a Mother's Day card as well, and as a Welcome Home card for someone else.
It's rather big, 9" high by 6" wide, so I had to make a custom envelope to fit it. It could easily be made smaller, I just liked it as a big card.
I took a 12x12 sheet, cut it to 9x12, scored at 6". Then I made a mark in the center and on each side at 5" high, then cut to make the roof.
The shingles are made of Kraft cardstock, punched with the SU scallop border punch. I ran them through my Xyron to make it easy to put on the roof. I just staggered them on, then clipped the sides off once all the layers were on.
The base is pastel blue DCWV cardstock. I trimmed the house with white cardstock, then used Nesties to make the windows and the door. I put acetate on the back of the windows, then the mini brad for the doorknob. It's hard to see but I embossed the door as well, to make it look like a paneled door, using the next size down Nestie.
I finished it off with the MS Picket Fence border punch, and 2 yellow Primas.
