This card is for today's Ways to Use It Challenge (WT255): Textiles. Just had to play along with this one today--I love fabric and have tons of it!
I've been playing around with the idea for this card in my head all week. I knew I wanted to use this image from the SU So Many Scallops set that my friend Meredith (Crafty Math Chick here on SCS) gave me for Christmas. When I checked my fabric scraps pile, I found this great piece of green twill with a fuzzy selvage and instantly knew it would be perfect for grass in this mental card I had going. And I had so much fun with and was so pleased by the results of the masked/sponged clouds I made on a card yesterday, I was psyched to try it again today!! Then everything else came together nicely.
So the textiles I used are: green twill for the grass, satin loop-edge ribbon for the flower stem, green gingham fabric covered brads. I stitched the ribbon and fabric on with my sewing machine.
I added the little orange flowers scattered in the grass as the last touch--it still needed a little something. I used Fun Flock to make their fuzzy little yellow centers.
I'm very pleased with my results today--plus, these colors make me happy!!
Thanks for taking a look!
