WT255 Challenge was to use a piece of fabric to create a cardÂ… so I knew exactly what piece I wanted to use.. now to find itÂ…
Well after searching for a while, there it was sitting on the work table in my sewing room, I had it pulled out for a project.. so I couldnÂ’t cut into the area I wanted for this cardÂ… so I took the material and scanned it, and used it as a paperÂ… but it is a fabric print, as you can seeÂ… it is a piece of batik fabric from JamicaÂ… so I just couldnÂ’t cut into the center where the turquoise wasÂ… it has greens, purples, and oranges as well as some yellows as you can seeÂ… just yummy plus to meÂ… all my favorite colorsÂ…
I also needed a valentines card for this friend who is batty over butterfliesÂ… so it was perfect for that too..
So on the inside I made a plate of white paper with MarthaÂ’s double heart borderÂ… and then a large heart in the cornersÂ… wowÂ… I know she is going to love this oneÂ…
Prior to gluing down the fabric/paper, I made paper lace from the spellbinder border fluer di lis templateÂ… and gathered it up to put around the curveÂ… then again using another spellbinder template create the butterflies and then put them thru the cuddlebug dotted swiss folderÂ… a little Stickles on the edges and it is completedÂ…
Hope you like itÂ… and thanks so much for taking a look seeÂ… I love using fabric, and do use it a lot when I donÂ’t have the proper color paperÂ… it is very nice to compliment a softer looking cardÂ… and the texture is GREATÂ…
Have a super creative dayÂ…
Love, Light and PeaceÂ… Bonnie

OMG - what gorgeous fabric! Love the vibrant colors - tropical batiks are some of my favorites. How clever of you to scan it, then create paper lace to go with. It's incredible!

Wow is right, Bonnie! You aced this challenge, for sure! Your G/F is going to flip over this one! (I like butterflies too! heheheh!) You have used such a spectacular fabric, and so clever of you to preserve the fabric but still be able to use it on your card! That flock of butterflies is, um, I don't have enough superlatives! It is SO textural! Just about flies right off the screen! I love all the white texture contrasting with the brilliant fabric panel. And such a clever layout you done as well! This isn't just a card, it's a work of art, and nothing less than STUNNING! I hope she frames it- it belongs on her wall to keep forever!
