I think what I heard today at Truvy's will entertain that 'ol Neil, and he will let me get past that dang moat!
Ok, Y'all know what goes on at Truvy's Beauty Parlour. It's not so much about hair, as it is learnin' 'bout people. Now some will say that is gosspin', but I say know your neighbor. Truvy's motto is 'there is no such thing as natural beauty'. Here is some conversation I heard at Truvy's today! Oh Lordy! It's some good stuff!
Truvy: I kind of like hiring somebody with a past.
Clairee: She can't be more than eighteen. She hasn't had time to have a past.
Truvy: Oh get with it, Clairee. This is the eighties. If you can achieve puberty, you can achieve a past.
Truvy:When it comes to pain and suffering, she's right up there with Elizabeth Taylor.
Clairee Belcher: Well, you know what they say: if you don't have anything nice to say about anybody, come sit by me!
Clairee Belcher: They were both high. They'd been smokin' everything but their shoes.
Truvy: Oh, Sammy's so confused he don't know whether to scratch his watch or wind his butt.
Truvy: Honey, time marches on and eventually you realize it is marchin' across your face.
Clairee Belcher: Ouiser, I'd recognize this penmanship anywhere. You have the handwritin' of a serial killer.
Truvy: Well, these thighs haven't gone out of the house without lycra on them since I was 14.
Clairee: You were brought up right.
Truvy: I don't like her. I don't trust anyone who does their own hair. I don't think it's natural.
Well, I didn't have time to get any more dirt, but I'll be back! Got to go to the factory! See you all tonight!
Thanks for looking!

Ah the ladies at Truvy's are in style I see. my, you can sure make them there ladies look sweet. I love your stories and the good "dish" on them all. Had a mouthful of giggles right here.
Thanks for sharing this beautiful card with everything on it but relish and ketchup, but again, we all know that a card doesn't need relish and ketchup 'cause Patti made it with a whole lot of love, right. Hugsxo

Well, look at you, missy, havin' the perfect image for today's tea party. What fun!
And, I absolutely LOVE Steel Magnolia's. One of my favorite lines is when Clairee says to Ouiser "You know I love ya more than my luggage." Totally cracks me up!
Come on, Pat, come sit over here a spell and let's talk beauty shop talk. I bet you have lots of stories!
