I needed a card for someone leaving work next week. She goes in for the most elaborate, and to be honest, irritating, in depth descriptions of things, so I am sure she will find plenty of suitable metaphors to inspire her in this card.
I too the big purple brooch from the Echo site as my inspiration - my big Primas sit on my desk for months at a time because I find them hard to use. This also works for the TLC brick wall, and for Thursday's Cut it Out - the sentiment is cut out on the bricks, also the butterfly.
Size is 8 x 5 3/4 " to allow room for everyone in work to sign it.
Base is textured brown card. Then white card, distresed edges, sponged with Antique Linen and Broken China. I printed the sentiment, cut the card into bricks and sponged the edges. Arranged them on the card leaving room for a ribbon stem, and stuck them down. Stuck down the ribbon and added two Primas and some leaves. The butterfly is Rhonna Farrer Nature, stamped on the base and on watercolour paper, coloured with H2Os. I added Sakura Stardust dots round the edge, and that's it. I jus

This is beautiful - wonderful use of the big prima flowers! I like the way your wall has a little gap for the stem. (Your writing about your colleague made me smile!!)
