Nice technique but a little time consumingÂ…LOLÂ…I guess thatÂ’s why IÂ’m a day late getting it posted!
IÂ’ve been going to try this technique but just never got to it, thanks for the push Holly! Great challenge!
-Cut the bricks ½ x 1” and ink distressed each one. I cut the bricks out with a paper cutter and made no marks before cutting.
-Pencil mark the oval on the paper as a guide and glue the bricks in place.
-Ink distressing is done on all beige layers and the orange designer paper.
- Color the flower image with markers and stamp using a stamp positioner. By stamping after the bricks are formed the image doesnÂ’t get distorted in the spacing and positioning process.
-The beige scalloped layer has a section cut out of it the width of the script layer and border. I did it this way so I could have room for the brads and this also helps to cut down on bulk.
-The butterfly was colored with liquid ink and artist brush. The antenna was stamped on the panel using a stamp positioner; glue was applied only to the body section of the butterfly and glued to the panel lining up to the antennae.
-Stamp the wild flower image around the scalloped panel and itÂ’s ready to assemble to the border and then the card base.
-The inside liner and envelope were ink distressed on all edges and stamped with the same wild flower image in the same manner as the orange designer paper on the card front.
Tools:
Paper cutter for bricks
Spellbinder Nestabilities
Stampin Up mat pack and Bazzill piercer for brads
Stamp positioner
Sponge
Artist brush

I really like your take on the brick wall challenge and your butterfly is so realistic it looks as though it could fly right off the card! I love the look of the wildflower image stamped along the front and inside of your card as well as on the envie.

Blush is one of my favourite Penny Black stamps and you've given it a whole new lease of life with this technique. Love it all. Thanks so much for sharing it.
