The TSC challenge was to make a card based on something that happend on January 17th. Since it is our challenge hostess's (Mrs. Boz) son's birthday, we could make a birthday card. CarrollAnn, I'm going to try to come up with something else later, lol! Thanks for the fun challenge!
I loved this set from the first moment I ever saw it, but my DH tried to talk me out of buying it, saying I already had a cardinal stamp, I had so many Christmas sets why did I need another, and blah blah. Why do husbands think it's okay to have an opinion about stamps, lol?
I was completely sold on it when I realized that creative stampers were making beautiful BLUE JAY cards with it. I stamped the image onto watercolor paper with Black Stazon and colored with reinkers and metallic pencils. The spiral clip with the ribbon was inspired by FS WeeBeeStampin's beautiful uploads! I also used the sketch from SC261
Thank you to all of the stampers who inspired this card, and to CarrollAnn, Julia, and Roxie for the awesome challenges!
And, thank you all for looking!

Darla, this is so pretty, love everything about it. Nice touch using the spriral with ribbon and those eyelets. Love the border. I,too, am surprised your dh knew you already had a cardinal stamp. It is better for my DH bp to not know anything about my stamps. Oh, by the way, how many of the same screw drivers and wrench sets does a dh have?

Darla, as usual, this is absolutely fantastic! I love how the blue jay's head and tail are popping out of the box. You are the master of those clips and ribbon. You make them look so good and use them in such clever ways! You really packed a lot into this beauty! TFS

Just tell me this: what female Ryan do you that doesnt always get her way? We have to do that since we decided to take on that name! Glad it wasnt even an issue with your husband. You love cardinals and I love dogs, so what's the problem? I love your card, Darla. It's soft and natural; just really pretty. I dont see you on as much as you used to be so I'm wondering have you gone back to work?
