Take several strips of paper in 2 colours, 30x4 cm start pretty side down away from you on your table and fold a 1cm border down the long edge towards you onto the back--like Iris folding.
Now cut into 4 equal pieces.
With the back still facing you fold the edges into the center as if you were making a paper kite--you now have a neat triangle in front of you with a join down the centre you can see these on the card.
Draw carefully on cheap copier paper: inside a square, a cross, then corner to corner lines--follow OK?
Now carefully glue down the first 4 paper kites (COLOR 1) on the DIAGONAL lines, points into centre.
NOW GLUE DOWN AS YOU GO, WATCHING YOUR POSITIONS TO CREATE A STAR. THIS WILL HELP IF YOU QUILT, IF NOT YOIU'LL HAVE TO LOOK CAREFULLY!
Working carefully place the next 4 kites (COLOR 2),a little Further out on the straight up and down cross, AND ALSO the next 4 'planes' on the diagonal (all color 2).
I FOUND IT HELPS IF YOU LOOK AT THE CENTRE AND THINk OF KEEPING EVEN THE AMOUNT YOU ARE REVEALING ON THE ONE BELOW! like iris folding you are working from the centre out.
Further out again kites in color 1 on the up and down cross, followed by the diagonals.
Now add kites of color 1 to the 4 diagonal corners. (leave off if using a circle aperture card)
Edge the back of your aperture on your card with Iris folded strips of colour. (leave off if using a circle card)
Trim away excess copier paper, glue around the back of trimmed aperture, and position down over your star. allow to dry.
Hope this make sense, Enjoy!
