Immanuel is the last of the year's HHN09 studies on God's names. I used the MMSC sketch #34 (http://priscillastyles.blogspot.com/) for my layout inspiration. I remembered I had this Friends paper and thought what better way to tell how God became man than by using the word friend! I chose the main verse that tells how Jesus left His position of equality with God to come to earth to die for our sins. I also chose a verse that tells us that God will be with us for all eternity!! I needed something to fill in alongside the oval on the sketch and couldn't figure out what to use. Suddenly I remembered I had some pressed pansies that were the perfect colors!
The pansies have quite a story...my sister spent a year in Iraq as an OR nurse. After she was finished there she decided to stay active and was assigned to Ft. Hood in TX. She lived with a lady while there but due to some health issues had to go home before her year was up. This lady she lived with pressed and sent her some flowers. My sister brought them to my house and I helped her arrange them on a bookmark that she later had laminated. She left the extra flowers with me so I've had them stashed for the last year! She probably would have been at Ft. Hood when the shooting occurred had she not been released for health problems! God is always with us, sometimes He goes through the troubles with us and sometimes He chooses to move us out of harm's way. He is sovereign, only He knows why He does what He does!
