My dear friend Joe from Colorado, a staunch environmentalist, deserves a holiday card, but is rather disdainful of Christmas commercialism. I thought he would appreciate this Winter-themed card, in non-traditional colors.
It is for today's color challenge, Barely Banana, (Dusty Durango) Really Rust, Basic Gray, and a neutral, with a *dessert* of a charm.
As I currently have no access to proper cutting tools, I cut these ovals by tracing around a little Rubbermaid container, making it rather impossible to get clean edges. I softened the edges (and covered the imperfections!) by distressing with the edge of my scissors.
The main image is stamped on Kraft CS in Brilliance Lightening Black. The *snowdrifts* in the foreground are done with 3 layers of torn Paper Vellum. The piece is finished off with an appropriate sentiment, a silver snowflake charm, gold cord, and, of course, a heavy dusting with gold spray glitter.
Thank you for looking, and hope you all have a happy, healthy, and creative New Year!
Hugggs!
Maddy

This is so pretty. I know the recipient will appreciate it. I really think it is great that you were able to make this with your supplies on hand. Nice job!

Very lovely winter scene. Brilliant use of Rubbermaid! ;-) Stampers are resourceful. Love the non traditional colors and the vellum snowdrifts are dreamy. The added snowflake and cording are fabulous! TFS Maddy! Hugs!!

Ah, these are the cards I remember you making! You havent lost a beat, Maddy. It's just so great to see you back in the game. I love your resoucefulness, too. Great idea to use the rubbermaid and then distress the edges. Beautiful cards with equally as beautiful embellishments.
