Well...today we are inspired by this wonderful teapot and story. I knew I was going to have a busy day, so I 'guessed' from the sneak peek on a part of the theme......and certainly, in woods you find pine trees with pinecones and needles that bears could use for shelter, hiding, and might even bring some soft needles in to make their bed soft for their hibernation.
I played around a bit with the colors. I heat embossed the pine needles with AquaMist embossing powder and the pinecones with SilverPearl embossing powder. The card base is actually bashful blue. I have to admit that I like this nontraditional embossing coloring. Who knew???
Anyhow....the only problem with these pinecones is that it gives Bertie-girl something to fling around.....so watch out...pinecones could hurt when flung!!!
Well...I am off to the pool.....sounds crazy, eh, when our temps are in the 20's and the wind chill is near O..........but.....hopefully the pool water (indoors of course) is extra warm today.....will catch up with you all later....
hugs
joanne

I just LOVE the colour you used for embossing the pine-needles - brings me right back to the one outside my bedroom window that I used to climb when I was young. And definitely the pine-needles will make a soft bed for the bears. Yikes, when we were in a pine-needle covered ruined fort in Greece in the summer, it was so soft I never heard my camera or my guide book fall out of my motorbike helmet - so the bears will love that for hibernating.
As for Bertie flinging the cones - better yet we make a bonfire and burn them. I love watching them glow, and the tinkle they make when they're almost burned and you tap them with a poker. And the smell - mmm.

Well, ya think yer mightee smart, doncha, Miss SnoSnot, guessin' what I'd be a-flingin' at da tea party today. Course, you wuz a teecher, so I reckon that accounts fer yer smarts. I wunder if these beeutiful embossed pinecones are heavier than tradishunal ones. I bet they'd hit them thar bears a might heavy, huh?

Oh I too love the color of your pinecones! Love your corners and the piercing as well. And Bertie would always find something to fling so can`t blame you. ;-) Swimming sounds lovely about now!! TFS
