I am privileged to be hosting the MMTPT challenge today while we wait for Cindy to come back ready to sweep us up into her wonderful world of make-believe again after her well-deserved break.
See HERE for the story this week.
My base is 5 /4" square cream. The next layer, a fraction smaller, is dark brown Bazzill, with distressed edges. My pine bough panel is cream card, stamped with Autumn Days in Versamark, embossed with white EP, and sponged with Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain. The main panel is cream card; I stamped the bear with Versafine Black and embossed with clear EP. Stamped the Woodland Fern from Hero Arts for my trees with Versafine Olympia Green and embossed with clear EP. Sponged the background with Antique Linen, Vintage Photo and Tattered Straw. The trees didn't look quite right just floating, so I sponged in vague shadows just to ground them, though they are not in the pot. Mounted the two stamped layers onto my mat layer with a fraction of a gap between them. Tried various embellishments like hemp twine, ended up with paper piercing and than attached to base.

Sabrina, what a lovely nature scene. Well, big black bears...they scare me sooo much, but they say it's grizzly's and brown bears we should be afraid of. I do love this one though, he looks tame enough, is that a smile I see on his face...
Love the white acorns at the bottom, you did a beautiful inspired version of your teapot, which is so cool by the way. An do we get extra points for a masculine card. WOW, that will be another one for 2010. Whoohooo! Thanks for hosting, will be back soon...mead huh...I have to look that up. My english is not always fresh. LOL

Yikes! Yer a-bringin' black bears to this shindig? Well, I kin tell ya right now, missy, that I'm a-hidin' behind them thar pine trees with my ammunishun of pinecones. 'Course, them thar pine trees look mightee sparse; not shure they'll give me much coverage. Yer black bear is gonna git the what fer when all that sap lands on his hairs. Then, I'm runnin' fer my cozy log cabin and sippin on some more of yer mead.
