This card is for a "ways to use it" challenge using a favorite recipe for a card. My family loves this apple gingerbread served warm with whipped cream or ice cream. Yum! Yum!
Apple Gingerbread
2 Cups flour
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ginger
1/4 tsp cloves
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cups butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg, beaten
3 Tbsp molasses
1 tsp baking soda
1 cup buttermilk
1 1/2 cups peeled diced apples
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix flour, spices, and salt. Set aside. Cream butter and sugar. Add egg and molasses, beating well. Dissolve soda in buttermilk and add to creamed mixture. Add dry ingredients and apples, mixing well. Bake in a greased and floured 9 inch square cake pan for 50 minutes. Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream.

what an adorable image. I think I tried that stall tactic a few times when I was younger (weeelll, much much younger, LOL!!) And thx for sharing a delish sounding recipe. I love warm gingerbread but have never tried apple version...TFS
