Todays Ways to use it challenge was to take a recipe and make a card....
I chose this recipe, as I want to give a gift of my homemade shortbread cookies to a friend and the card with the recipe on it will be helpful if she wishes to make them later.
I typed the recipe on the computer...Printed it out and tore the paper around the edges. I tore another piece of real red cs for the frame and added holly to the corner. After putting the card together, I added bling and ribbon....This card is 5 1/2 X 6 1/2 in order to accomodate the size of the recipe. Then I had to make an envelope to fit the card...
Hope you like it....

I have this exact same recipe handed down from my Mother, but I cut them all into rounds and after cooking I sandwich them together with a little raspberry jam and put a little icing made with milk and confectioners sugar on top. They are my favorite and bring back so many memories. Thanks for sharing.

I like all the bling added to the holly and snowflakes, real touch of luxury. Just like the shortbread. My mum was French, and we used a lot of butter for baking in our household. When DH first started visiting the house he couldn't believe it - in his house they didn't even always have butter on bread, let alone use it for cooking.
Laughing at having to make an envelope the right size - happens to me too sometimes.
