I hope everyone had a great weekend! It's been a little busy around here, so I'm combining today's FS and yesterday's IC challenges. Michele has such a great gallery! I finally chose Abundant Mother's Day Blessings for my case. Since her card was a sketch, I changed it by leaving off the vertical band and replacing the horizontal band w/ narrow ribbon. I changed the colors and theme and moved the sentiment to a label. I kept the flower motif and the rest of the layout.
For the IC, I chose Little Red Flower Pendant.
Poinsettias are one of my favorite plants so I used this great poinsettia image as a background and also as the main image. For the bg, I stamped it repeatedly, masking where needed, using the red ink. For the main image, I stamped it in black, painted it w/ water colors and a water brush, then cut it out. I used some of the red paint to add a splatter effect across the bg and a little on the main flower. A few accents were added w/ a gold gel pen.
I attached the main flower to a white piece cut w/ a Spellbinders circle Nestie, then attached this to a scalloped red circle. The greeting was stamped and the lower edge cut w/ scallop scissors. A red velvet ribbon was added and everything was attached to a red linen layer (edged w/ a black marker), then a white 5.5 x 4.25 (A2) card.
Thanks so much for looking! My blog:The Write Stuff. Sorry! I had to delete a bunch of really old posts from my blog & this is one of them.

Wow! I love your poinsettia too! Julie, this is colored so beautifully and I loved the stamped background with just the outline of the poinsettia.
