I just received this stamp set and I wanted to try and make a Holiday card with it. I love this stamp set and I think it will make real easy and quick cards.
I decided to mount my tree and sentiment on different blocks, which I feel makes for even quicker stamping.
I inked my tree image using Handsome Hunter ink and then I took my Always Artichoke ink pad and I sort of thumped the edge of the ink pad over the tree image. I really like the results I got. It sort of reminds me of the thumping technique. The trees look like different shade of green without a lot of work.
After I had the trees inked the way that I wanted I wiped off the bird part of the stamp and I colored it Rose Red using my SU marker. Then I stamped the stamp onto my card stock.
I sponged my background using Barely Banana ink in the center and then I sponged outwards using Bashful Blue, Brocade Blue, and Night of Navy along the edges. I did have to create a mask so that the ink from my sponging would not transfer onto the snow along the bottom part of my card.
Once my sponging was finished I just stamped the Season's Greetings sentiment using Rose Red ink.

Oh, I hear you about how wonderful this set is! My hubby really likes the tree images. I separated my sentiment also. I just spent a few days with it stamping Christmas cards. I love your sponged sky, and your *pad thumping.* Great tip, thanks! Linda

Really beautiful card! Thanks for the step-by-step instructions. I helped a co-worker make her first Christmas cards with this set. Think I will have to get it myself! TFS
